The men’s program at Mayanot offers
a unique approach to Jewish education that
combines a highly academic curriculum with
inspiring Jewish life experiences, opening
rich and diverse possibilities for Jewish
expression.
Students of diverse backgrounds study together
in an open-minded yet challenging environment.
This deep immersion in Jewish learning nurtures
a love for the Jewish people, and connection
to the land of Israel.
At Mayanot we believe that essential to
Jewish study is the incomparable interaction
between student and teacher. Therefore,
all class sizes are small, and one-on-one
learning each day facilitates accelerated
skill acquisition and independence.
Mayanot provides a wide range of opportunities
and courses
for students to fulfill their personal goals
including the following learning tracks:
Judaic Studies Program
(JSP)
The Judaic Studies Program provides students
with a smorgasbord of Jewish ideas. It is
ideal for the student who wants to have a
taste of many styles and topics. The JSP track
is designed as an introductory course for
the serious student who has little to no background
in Hebrew language and textual study. Classes
in JSP
are one hour long and are mainly lecture style.
Bet Midrash Program
The Bet Midrash Program sets goals for acquiring
textual skills and achieving self sufficiency
in independent study. The Bet Midrash Program
emphasizes advanced study of the Talmud, Jewish
Law and Chassidut as well as critical, in-depth
analysis of their supporting texts and commentaries.
Classes in the Bet
Midrash track are generally two hours
long, and comprise of chavrutah (study partner)
style learning and a follow up class.
The Mayanot Men's Campus and its apartment-style
dormitory is located in the in the Makor
Boruch neighborhood in central Jerusalem,
and is minutes away from downtown and the
Old City. Mayanot is made up primarily of
students ages 20 through 29 from diverse
Jewish backgrounds, from around the globe,
who seek to explore five thousand years
of Jewish wisdom.
